On Halloween, Chris Doherty, leader of the Boston Hardcore band GANG GREEN had a major stroke that affected both his heart and brain and left him paralyzed on his left side. He was rushed to the hospital where he had emergency brain surgery. To add insult to injury his insurance was cancelled two weeks before this stroke. Some may remember Chris had a life threatening bout with illness this same time last year. As serious as last year's condition was, this stroke is far more debilitating and dangerous. Chris is a legend in the hardcore and punk rock world and beyond. His Band Gang Green has toured the world and influenced kids across the globe. His songs have been covered by Metallica and Dropkick Murphys and bands from Scandinavia, to North Korea to Chile to Indonesia and beyond. Benefit concerts are being arranged in Boston and Los Angeles.
Chris needs your help and generosity. Please spread the word and show him the love and support to help him recover so he can get back to what he loves most Gang Green and his daughter Grace.
